week 1, day 5

prior to last night, i had been camping out on my couch all the time. last night i made my first attempt to go upstairs so that i could take a shower and sleep in a real bed. getting up stairs was kinda funny - i ended up going one step at a time on my butt. it was comedic, but effective. i had to cover my wound with saran wrap, then took a lightning fast shower. the shower was great - i was feeling pretty gross as i hadn't taken a real shower up until then. after that, my parents helped me change my dressings with some new gauze and a new ace bandage. then, i tried out sleeping in my own bed. sleeping in a bed was actually more painful than sleeping on the couch - i think it's because i tended to try and roll around more, which was more painful for my knee. who woulda thunk?
